What is the Move Up Global Fellowship Program?

The Move Up Global Fellowship Program is a month-long fellowship program that offers an opportunity for fellows to participate in an education and community health immersion program in Rwanda. The program aims to provide fellows with the skills, knowledge, and network to become educators, global health leaders, and advocates.

The program consists of three main components:

  • Pre-departure training: Fellows will attend a thorough orientation to prepare them for their fieldwork in Rwanda. The topics will include cultural competency, ethical issues, research methods, project management, and more.

  • Fieldwork in Rwanda: Fellows will be placed in one of the partner organizations of Move Up Global in Rwanda, where they will support interventions related to education enrichment programs, prevention of malnutrition and neglected tropical diseases, and community health. Fellows may conduct a research project on a topic of their choice under the guidance of a local supervisor and a Move Up Global mentor.

  • Post-fieldwork reflection: Fellows will present their project progress and/or share their experiences and lessons learned with the Move Up Global community and other stakeholders. Fellows will also receive feedback and career advice from the Move Up Global team and alumni.
